Summary
Luise lives a humble life, burdened by debt and caring for her younger sister. Her world turns upside down when her irresponsible brother gambles away his fiancée’s dowry and offers Luise in her place to fulfill the feudal lord’s “first night” privilege
Battling debt from her deceased parents and caring for her younger sister, Louise works tirelessly to survive. Her lazy brother gambles away the dowry money meant for his bride and decides to offer the bride’s first night privilege (“초야권”) to the feudal lord to pay off his debts. To protect the bride, he forces Louise to go in her place. Louise is brought to the lord’s castle—a fierce, battle-hardened noble feared by many. When she meekly states her age, the lord frowns, sighs, and silently motions toward the bed. His commanding voice carries an authority that leaves her no choice. Dialogue snippet: “Go to the bed and lie face down.”
