Summary
Yeon Seonwoo is an ordinary young man who wakes up inside the game The Return of the D‑Rank Hunter—but not as the hero. Instead, he finds himself cast as a minor, background NPC (non-playable character).
Shortly after his arrival, Seonwoo is abducted by Lee Jehee (also spelled Jaehee or Jaehwi), the powerful S‑class hunter and protagonist of the game. Jehee, tormented by insomnia, forces Seonwoo into a one-sided contract: Seonwoo becomes his mentalist—a servant who supports him as needed.
To return to his own world, Seonwoo must discover and trigger the hidden (secret) ending of the game—an ending unknown even to Jehee. His journey thus becomes a high-stakes quest for escape, complicated by power dynamics, reluctant alliances, and growing intrigue.
