Summary
In a world where espers—people with supernatural abilities—require guides to stabilize and support their powers, compatibility between an esper and a guide is everything.
Gye Jun-min, a powerful esper, is known for having the highest compatibility rate ever recorded—92%. Despite this, he ends up paired with a guide who is not his destined match. That guide is our narrator and protagonist—someone who secretly harbors deep, unrequited feelings for Jun-min.
Their relationship is volatile. From the beginning, they clash: constant arguments, physical altercations, and a lack of emotional openness. Still, the guide remains by Jun-min’s side, silently yearning and quietly hoping for something more than just a professional bond.
But there’s a deeper complication—Jun-min imprinted on a different guide years ago, making it seemingly impossible for the protagonist to truly become the one Jun-min needs… or loves.
As their emotional walls start to crack, and Jun-min begins to show signs of conflicted feelings, the story explores whether love can grow outside of fate—and if the bonds we build through shared struggle and care can ever replace what destiny once decided.
