Summary
Dandadan, written and illustrated by Yukinobu Tatsu, is a genre-bending Japanese manga blending action, supernatural horror, romantic comedy, and coming-of-age themes. It began serialization in April 2021 on Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ digital platform.
Momo Ayase, a high school girl who believes in ghosts but not aliens, meets Ken Takakura (nicknamed Okarun), an awkward classmate who believes in aliens but not ghosts.
To settle their debate, they each visit locations tied to their beliefs. Momo encounters aliens and awakens latent psychic powers, while Okarun gets cursed by a yokai called Turbo Granny, gaining supernatural speed and strength.
The two team up to battle bizarre threats—yokai, aliens, curses, and urban legends—while slowly developing romantic feelings for each other.
