Summary
Lout of Count’s Family (also known as Trash of the Count’s Family) is a Korean fantasy manhwa adapted from the web novel by Yoo Ryeo Han, with illustrations by PAN4.
Kim Roksu, a modern-day office worker, wakes up inside the world of his favorite fantasy novel, The Birth of a Hero. But instead of becoming the hero, he finds himself in the body of Cale Henituse, the notorious good-for-nothing son of a noble family—known as the “lout” or “trash.”
In the original novel, Cale was destined to be beaten up by the protagonist early in the story and then fade into obscurity. But Roksu, now in Cale’s body, has no intention of following that path. Armed with his knowledge of the novel’s plot, he devises a simple plan: Avoid trouble. Live a peaceful, comfortable life. Stay out of the spotlight.
Unfortunately for him, things don’t go as planned. To secure his future, Cale begins acquiring ancient powers meant for major characters. Ironically, his attempts to avoid becoming a hero start turning him into one—especially as he gathers powerful allies, including a baby dragon, skilled warriors, mages, and even the novel’s original hero.
As his reputation spreads and his influence grows, Cale finds himself pulled deeper into the political and magical conflicts of the continent—threats he never wanted any part of. But to protect his newfound family and preserve the peace he longs for, Cale must outwit fate itself.
